Hi ya'll!
Hey, great time this morning in Worship. God's presence was powerful and gracious. I'm looking forward to exploring some rehearsals with this new crew of singers....and of course, all of the other teams as well.
I am aware that we had some with us this morning who speak limited English, and I wonder what they saw that their hearts understood or perhaps longed for? We know what they heard, but what did they see? Did our collective outpouring of worship extend to them the invitation to take a closer look at Jesus? I loved how Pastor Leonard led us in a time of bowing before the Lord, positioning ourselves, as he later taught. What a great daily question...What is the position of my heart before the Lord today?
I hope you all will take the challenge to study this next video I'm posting. It's a song we did not that long ago, and here is Darlene to lead it out for us! What I want you all to do is put on the critical ears, especially the band. Listen for how the song goes from one level to the next to the next. What instruments came in when? When did the voices come out more...note how the electric guitar becomes more prominent in the bridge (I think)...then back down. It was beautifully and creatively done, not for the sake of performance, but for the sake of drawing the worshipper deeper into the heart of the song; gratitude for the cross. Be blessed, do the study, learn from it, and we'll worship together again next week.
