Hey, is there anything better than what we get to do, Sunday after Sunday? I am challenged to continue to bring the heart of worship into my own home daily, and I challenge you to do the same. I was thinking on that this morning as I was driving to church, thinking of how excited I was to get to come to worship. There's NOTHING in the world like having a nice chunk of time to pour out our love to Jesus. Lord, I pray we'll see You all the more as you are. I am sure we will be running into Your presence with praise and adoration. And I even remember saying, "Oh Lord, I wish I could have this every day like it is today!" What? And why couldn't I? I can, in a special way between the Lord and I. The one thing that makes THIS DAY different than the ones I could potentially have here at home is that we have them together, with other like-minded believers in Christ. From experience, we know that something happens exponentially in the Spirit when we come together for His honor.
Father, I pray that what we experience as a body will have a heavy impact on our world when we mix with it this coming week. Let us remember and recall your faithfulness to us today in worship and the Word.
A friend of mine who is on staff at Belmont Church in Nashville TN as their full-time sound fella wrote this on his facebook page today. I so appreciated it, and wanted to share it as an encouragement to those of you who work so hard putting it together each week. Dan is nuts. He's a crazy fella. So funny, and so loves the Lord. I hope you'll be blessed and challenged....mostly blessed:
"No matter how many times I do this Sunday morning thing I never get tired of experiencing God's goodness and faithfulness both for myself and others."The fact of the matter is, getting ready for Sunday mornings can be grueling. But, let me say over again, it is so worth it. I am convinced that it is. So, hang in there everyone. Wait, do better than that. Find a way to give sacrificial thanksgiving to the Lord for who He is. He is majestic. He is the great I AM. He is the beginning and the end....and so much more.
Lord, let our acts of worship be pleasing and acceptable in Your sight. Forgive us for our clay-like actions and mentalities that peak out from time to time. Let us be filled with the Spirit, continually. Let our light truly shine for the glory of You and You alone.
I hope you all will jump on board and sign up for some hours of prayer as Covenant of Grace receives the torch for prayer this Friday evening the 12th. I have yet to do so, but will, and I tell you, it's always the best time! We'll kick off our week of prayer by way of Worship and prayer this Friday evening with Rob & Kay Winters, and the regular crew who comes to help pass the torch to the next congregation. We're blessed to be a part. Worship begins promptly at 7 p.m. at COG in the sanctuary. I hope you'll particpate! It's a very important event to be a part of as a congregation.
There's a song brewing in my head that we'll introduce this next week by Chris Tomlin. What a writer! What a worshipper he is! Find the Song Videos tab (after you pick yourself up off the floor....am I actually posting a week in advance???) and take a listen to Our God.
Love ya'll so much. I'm giving thanks to our magnificent God for your life!

Kathy-
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome leader you are! I am so grateful to be working with you! In fact, David & I just agreed Sunday evening how happy we are to be at COG right now. We live for Sunday mornings; not just because we're musicians; but because we are gathering with the saints to worship our Father and our Beloved Jesus.
Together, we touch heaven and heaven kisses us all right bact. It is so good to know the presence of God!
Toni and David,
ReplyDeleteWe are so blessed to be fellow worshippers along side you both.
Much love & thanksgiving for your lives!
